After Care Instructions

Mole Removal
(Radiolase)

DO NOT PICK

Apply a greasy moisturiser (Vaseline, QV intensive, Paw Paw) to keep the treated area moist, whenever required.

Laser

Protect the treated areas with SPF50+ sunscreen and minimise sun exposure for a week after the treatment.

Do NOT pick at any flaky or scabbed areas.

Apply a light clean moisturiser (and sunscreen to exposed areas) over the area treated.

Treat any sensation or appearance of sunburn, with cold packs and make your room colder at night.

Excisions

Keep the area dry and covered for 3 days.

Remove the waterproof dressing after 3 days from the procedure, and leave the hypafix (white tape) until your stiches are removed.

Pat hypafix dry after washing.

Keep an eye out for signs of infection- pain / swelling / redness / oozing / fever.

Contact the clinic if you have any concerns.

Biopsy

Keep the area dry for 2 days

P.D.T
(Photodynamic Therapy)

Do NOT exercise vigorously for 5 days, just rest and take your time.

Whilst at home, stay in darkened areas and avoid bright house lighting and sun exposure for 2 days.

Apply a greasy moisturiser (Vaseline, QV intensive, Paw Paw) to keep the treated area moist, whenever required.

Over the next few days, the treated skin may become red (like a bad sunburn), it may have a tingling, itching or burning sensation, then crusty and sometimes blistering as the damaged skin and lesions begin to peel off. This sensation may last up to 7-14 days after treatment.

In a few weeks, the treated area has healed, leaving healthy skin behind.

For extensive damage or thick keratoses, repeat treatments may be required.

For 2 days following treatment, DO NOT VENTURE OUTSIDE, excessive exposure to sunlight should be avoided to prevent ongoing activation of the targeted skin.

When the treated area feels hot or stingy, pour cold water into a container, add ice and put a cloth into the water and ice mixture. Use this as a cold compress on the treated area as many times a day as needed to soothe and relieve discomfort.

If there is pain or discomfort, take Panadol, Nurofen, or a strong pain reliever like Panadeine Forte or Digesic.

Use air conditioning or a pedestal fan to ease heat.

Have cold showers as required.

If you have any concerns post treatment, please don’t hesitate to us for advice.

R.F.M.N
(Radiofrequency Micro-Needling)

Apply Bepanthen cream, Vitamin E oil, or similar fragrance and preservative free ointment to the skin for the first 7 days. After this, your normal moisturiser can be applied (Including Rejuvenate, if you have been prescribed these).

Sunscreen should be avoided for 7 days, and a sun hat worn when outside.

Harsh sunlight should be avoided, and sun hats should be worn to protect the skin treated with RFMN.

Artificial tan should not be applied for at least a month with RFMN.

You may experience some minor pin-point bleeding where the micro-needles have pierced the surface of the skin.

Rarely there may be some minor bruising. This is more likely if you are on blood thinners.

Some mild swelling might occur, particularly under the eyes, immediately after treatment, but this should resolve within 24 to 72 hours.

You may see some temporary patterning of the treated skin.
