(Total Body Photography )
At Skin Doctor SA, we use sophisticated software from DermEngine to take digital images of your entire body’s skin.
Using revolutionary photography technology, we create a comprehensive record of all your moles, allowing us to monitor changes over time.
A cutting-edge approach recommended by the Melanoma Institute Australia for high-risk patients.
By harnessing the power of artificial intelligence, your skin checks smarter than ever. Your moles will be mapped to your virtual 3D body map, where your Doctor, Melanographer and the system can work together to track any changes over time.
We then use these images as comparisons at your subsequent appointments enabling your doctor to quickly identify any mole changes for follow-up evaluation.
Alongside a skin cancer check performed by your Doctor or Melanographer, Total Body Photography is the most effective method to detect skin cancers earlier, enabling faster and less invasive procedures for suspicious lesions in the future.
There are many reasons why Total Body Photography may be a good idea for you. It supports the imaging of all of your moles, provides reassurance- professionals work to detect any concerns as early as possible to reduce the risk of unnecessary procedures, and it is quick to have done.
Certain factors may increase your chances of developing skin cancer. Patients with any number of risk factors may benefit from Total Body Photography in addition to regular self skin checks.

Helpful Tips for Your Appointment
- Make sure your skin is moisturized and not dry the day of imaging. A suntan or sunburn can change the appearance of moles on your skin for Total Body Photography. Always practice good sun safety.

- If you can avoid having fake tan on as this can change the look of some moles.
- When you arrive you will be asked to remove jewellery and make up, and tie up long hair.
Between appointments remember to check your skin. Perform a self-exam every 1 – 3 months to help you know your moles and notice any potential changes over time. If you notice any new changes, make an appointment with us.
